He had siblings Doris Ellie Louise (Quarrell) Tonkin, Gertrude Mary Quarrell, William Earnest Quarrell, John Vernon Stanley Quarrell, Lillian Ida Quarrell, William Quarrell, and Alma Vendaline Quarrell. John Quarrell died at age 17 years old in 1912.
