Did you know?
John D. Hann lived
8 years longer than
the average family member
when died at the age of 81.
I have in my possession an old studio photograph of John HANN which was taken at the S. S. Teel Studio in Washington, NJ. The photograph was taken some time in the 1880's with John appearing to be in his 20's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding John and his family:
John D. HANN was b. 15 Nov 1866 in Pleasant Grover, NJ to parents Stewart HANN (1825-1906) and Sarah TERRABERRY or DERRABERRY or DERENBERGER (1835-1874) who were married 11 Jun 1859 in German Valley, NJ. John was one of 6 children born to this couple including David Miller; Laura H.; Sarah; John D.; Elizabeth “Lizzie”; and Emma S. HANN, all born between 1860 and 1873. John married Jennie C. HANN (1869-1929) on 14 Dec 1886 in Washington or Port Murray, NJ and they had 5 children including Jacob Stewart or Steward; Silas or Sila Douglas; Roy B.; Ernest; and Howard Harrison HANN, all born between 1886 and 1898. John died Sept 1948 and is buried in the Tranquility Cemetery in Green Township, Sussex Co., NJ.
I am hopeful that I can get this photograph back to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.
Thanks,
Shelley
