    She was married to my father, Dan Brigdon for approx. 9 months. She shot and killed him on January 25, 1977 in Augusta, GA. She was never prosecuted and kept all personal effects of my father and robbed his 5 children of a relationship with his children.

Joanne was my daddy's first wife. (mid 1950's) I just discovered her actual last name today, I had thought it was Barr. My dad would not speak much about her, he DESPISED her. He told me she was a cheat and that she had threatened or tried to kill him and that she had actually killed her next husband. (he told me this in the 80's). I want to say that while they were married, they lived on Sand Bar Ferry Road in Augusta. She worked at Sears with my grandfather. I want to say that one of the people she cheated on him with also worked at Sears and they ran his credit account up there. He had to run some ad in the paper to take care of that. I do remember them running into each other in the 80's or 90's at a funeral home. I was maybe 10 years old. She recognized him, but he didn't recognize her. When she told him who she was, that was the first time I ever heard my dad say GD... followed by b**ch lol. He took off so quick out of there

Also, after her death. I saw where Marshall Hadden was quick deeded her home. Was wondering if she had left any of my father's personal effects. For example, his Vietnam War Medals, or anything else that can be given to his 5 children.

She kept everything of my dad's personal belongings. I wanted to find out if anyone knows if she kept his medals he earned in the Vietnam War?

Joanne was married to my father until she shot him in 1977. She only served probation and would not have any conversation with his children. She kept everything that was his personally. They did not have any children together and she is currently buried in the pauper's cemetery in Richmond Count, GA
