Jemima (Howlett) Carrie of Ballarat, City of Ballarat County, VIC Australia was born in 1876 in Smythesdale to James Martin Howlett and Elizabeth Burdett Howlett. She had siblings Anne Elizabeth Howlett, Henry Albert Howlett, Bertha Howlett, Louisa Howlett, Elizabeth Howlett, John Howlett, George Howlett, Benjamin Thomas Howlett, Thomas Benjamin Howlett, Robert George Howlett, James Reuben Howlett, and Frederick Howlett. She married Mich Carrie in 1896, and had children James Currie and James Currie. Jemima Carrie died at age 79 years old in 1955 in Ballarat.

In 1892, by the time she was 16 years old, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.
