Jeanie Stewart Keightley ( Gemmell 1888 - 1958

Jeanie Stewart (Gemmel) Keightley was born in 1888 to Archibald Stewart Gemmell and Elizabeth Winfield Gemmell ( Gordon, and had siblings Rice Thomas Hopkins Gemmell, Robert Bruce Gemmell, Lieut. Gordon Stewart Gemmell, James Reid Gemmell, and Elsie Gemmell. She married Fred. William Howard Keightley, and had children Gordon Stewart Keightley and Olive Dorothy Keightley. Jeanie Keightley died at age 69 years old on October 31, 1958.

Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas were hit, leaving 235 dead. Many of those who perished were children on their way home from school. The day was relatively warm when it began and the blizzard hit unexpectedly, catching most by surprise.
