    Jean "Meemaw" Wallace Alderson DANVILLE - Jean "Meemaw" Wallace Alderson, 76, formerly of 609 Skyline Ave., died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. Born December 27, 1929, in Pittsylvania County, V.A. she was the daughter of the late Fred N. Wallace and the late Annie W. Wallace. Mrs. Alderson was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. She worked her entire life in Dan River Mills until her retirement due to illness. She loved playing bingo, fishing with her family and shopping. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but is reunited with her husband and her son, Tommy, both of whom she loved dearly. She married Harry Clay Alderson on January 25, 1958. He died September 1, 2005. She is survived by a son, Joe C. Davis, and his wife, Betty, of Danville, V.A.; two daughters, Peggy D. Saunders and her husband, Wesley, of Danville, V.A., and Kelly A Laux and her husband, Rob, of Phoenix, A.Z.; a daughter-in-law, Pam T. Davis of Danville, V.A.; grandchildren Tommy L. Davis II and his wife, Leslie, of Summerfield, N.C., Wendy D. Newlin and her husband, David, of Mebane, N.C., Michael E. Warren and his wife, Crystal, of Birmingham, A.L., Amy W. Early and her husband, Andy, of Danville, V.A., Jamie R. Davis of Danville, V.A., and Nicholas G. Laux of Phoenix, A.Z., step-grandchildren, John W. Saunders III, Chris F. Saunders and Tommy Earle, all of Danville, V.A., and Timmy Earle and his wife, Michelle, of Illinois; great-grandchildren Trey and Trevor Davis of Summerfield, N.C., Drew Newlin of Mebane, N.C., Ally S. Early of Danville, V.A. and Addison L. Warren of Birmingham, A.L.; step-great-grandchildren Megan Saunders of Danville, V.A., Austin Saunders of Danville, V.A., and Alayna Earle of Illinois; a dear nephew L. Frank King Jr., and his wife, Betty Carol, of Danville, V.A., and a number of other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her son, she was predeceased by four brothers, D. T. Wallace, Henry Wallace, Willie Wallace, and Bobby Wallace; and a sister, Mae W. King. The funeral will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 8, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park. The family received friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at Barker Funeral Home, 2025 North Main St.; at other times they will be at the home of Peggy Saunders, 1852 Orphanage Road, Danville, V.A. Barker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
