Jane Helen (Shalhoub) DuBois was born on April 25, 1948 in Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin United States to Helen (Seroogy) Shalhoub and Joseph Shalhoub, and has siblings Sherry Marie Matzdorff, William John Shalhoub, Michael Thomas Shalhoub, Susan Elizabeth Larkin, Maxine Margaret Gensler, Deborah Ann Landin, Daniel James Shalhoub, Anthony Marc Shalhoub, and Amy Jacqueline Gialdini. She married Chester Clifton DuBois in 1975 in Green Bay, Brown County and they later divorced in 1989 in Green Bay. Jane DuBois has children Rachel Elizabeth DuBois and Daniel James DuBois.

The man, Nathuram Godse, shot Gandhi 3 times. He died immediately. The shooter was tried, convicted, and hung in November 1949.
