Kenneth & Madeline (Neal) Tanksley With 2 Children
James Tanksley, (1932-24 March 1953)Madeline & Kenneth's oldest child, a member of U.S. forces, was killed in Korea shortly after arriving.
While pregnant with her third child, Madeline had to have one leg amputated due to bone cancer. She eventually was fitted with a wooden leg posthesis. She went on to have five children in all, and she and her husband were married almost 64 years before he died in 1995. She died in 1997.

William & Ada (Martin) Tanksley were Kenneth's parents and Madeline's in-laws. William is holding Jean Tanksley, the daughter of their son Dennis, and Ada is holding James N. Tanksley, the son of their son, Kenneth.
Madeline is posing proudly with her first child, James N. Tanksley. Tragically, while he was serving with the U.S. forces, he was killed in Korea shortly after his arrival.
