The following appeared in The Lima News (Lima, Ohio) on Sunday May 11th 1941:
Two changes were announced Saturday in the original list of nine draftees scheduled to leave Monday for induction into the U.S. army. Both changes came from Board No. 2. New men named to leave Monday are Charles O. Smith, 306 S. Rosedale-av, and Ralph E. Hirt, 205 E. Third-st. They will replace Elton M. Hartzler, Los Angeles, Calif., who will be inducted from that city, and Thomas G. Sawyer, 1611 Lakewood-av, whose case is pending on appeal. Fred E. Dresher, 617 S. Pine-st, is the third man to go from Board 2.
Boards 1 and 3 will send three men each. Board 1 will send James F. McNeff, 902 N. Jameson-av, Robert H. Snook, 723 N. Elizabeth-st, and MacJilton Sargent, 901 E. Kibby-st. Board 3's selectees are George B. Foust, Delphos Route 2, and John W. and James R. Snyder, brothers, of Lima Route 4.
