James Arthur Kencil Triplett 1964 - 2014

James Arthur Kencil Triplett was born on October 18, 1964 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island United States to Hervey Millard Triplett and Cynthia Anne Triplett, and had a sister Elizabeth Innis Blakelock. He married Victoria Claire Prodaza in 1990 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine and they later divorced in 2009 in Bangor. He had children Kayla Elizabeth Ingerson and Rachel Victoria Triplett. James Triplett died at age 49 years old on July 25, 2014 in Bangor, Penobscot County, and was buried on July 29, 2014 at Clewleyville Cemetery in Holden.

In 1964, in the year that James Arthur Kencil Triplett was born, in June, three young civil rights workers - Andrew Goodman and Mickey Schwerner from New York City, and James Chaney from Meridian, Mississippi - were kidnapped and murdered in Mississippi. Working with "Freedom Summer", they were registering African-Americans to vote in the Southern states. Their bodies were found two months later. Although it was discovered that the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, the Neshoba County Sheriff's Office and the Philadelphia, Mississippi Police Department were involved, only 7 men were convicted and served less than six years.
