Inez Angel (Barker) Wentworth of Kew, City of Boroondara County, VIC Australia was born in 1897 in Camberwell to Henry James Thomas Barker and Emma Angel Howell. She had siblings Amy Ethel Barker, Linda Myrtle Barker, Leila Emma Barker, and Edith Cecily Barker. Inez Wentworth married Royce John Wentworth in 1925, and died at age 84 years old on December 15, 1982 in Kew.

In 1897, in the year that Inez Angel Barker was born, on September 21st, editor and publisher Francis P. Church responded to a letter to the editor from Virginia O'Hanlon, 8 years old. Virginia's father had told her that "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." So she wrote to the Sun, asking if there was a Santa Claus. Church responded with the now famous editorial "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".

In 1933, when she was 36 years old, on March 4th, Franklin Delano Roosevelt became the 32nd President of the United States. He was elected four times (equaled by no other President) and guided the United States through the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and World War 2. His wife was his cousin Eleanor Roosevelt (Teddy Roosevelt's niece) who President Truman called "First Lady of the World".
