Hugh Lawson of Manly, Northern Beaches Council County, NSW Australia was born in 1871 in VIC to Archibald Lawson and Mary Stewart. He had siblings William Neil Lawson, Margaret Ellen (Lawson) Mckenzie, Mary Mina Lawson, Elizabeth Ann Lawson, John Lawson, Archibald Lawson, Alexander Mcneil Lawson, and Catherine Hannah Lawson. Hugh Lawson married Emily Letitia Molyneaux in 1906, and died at age 76 years old on April 30, 1948 in Manly, NSW.

In 1871, in the year that Hugh Lawson was born, on March 22nd, William Holden became the first governor of a U.S. state - North Carolina - to be impeached and removed from office. His impeachment and removal was related to charges arising from his attempted suppression of the Ku Klux Klan.
