He had siblings Gladys Louisa McKeown, Muriel Margaret McKeown, Olive Gertrude Jane McKeown, Cyril Francis Mckeown, and Leslie Henry George Mckeown. Herbert Mckeown married Eva Jean Jewell in 1938, and died at age 81 years old on July 4, 1978 in Clifton Hill.
