    Henry's family had moved to Hackney, East London. Brothers John, Bert and "Tosh", and another brother who died within the 3 month range of Henry. Their mothers name was Catherine Jane, father was Horace (who died between 1959 and 1967) Henry married my grandmother, while in the Army resulting in the birth of 3 children, Janet (May 1943), a sister(1944), both born in Somerset and both later put up for adoption, and Harry (born 1944/45), who is believed to have moved to South Africa following military service (no further details regarding Harry or the sister). Janet married John F Willgress in Feb 1964, and moved to Norwich from the Ware area in Hertfordshire. 3 children, Mark J.(05/64), Maria A. (04/66) & Ian R. (06/68), all married and have a total of 6 children of their own

Taken when I visited my grandfathers resting place with my wife, mother and youngest son in 2013. Located in Bayeux British War cemetery, just behind the stone seat (was a wooden one in 1994) to the left of the central memorial as you walk from the main road. Jewish service personnel had the option of having Christian listed as their religion on dog tags in case they were captured as it was well know that they personally, would receive a much harsher treatment by German captors. This led to many headstones incorrectly displaying their true faith.
