  • Introduction

    My uncle Henry was the only male figure in my life. He was the one who walked me down the isle. Even tho my father was still alive. My uncle did not marry till he was 58 to Ruth. They move down south to I believe Arkansas and then end it up in Florida. He drank from Friday to Sunday and went to work every Monday at Chicago Faucet. He lived with my grandmother on and off on till her death in 1968. He always came to let me stay with him even when he lived alone. I liked being round him. He was always present in my mothers life. He said something to me once that I didn't understand. He said a brother should have taken better care of his sister, talking about when they were young . You never would elaborate on that. When my mom was born he told me they layed her on the bed and he called his little cookie. Later on in life daughters would earn that name nickname cookie. I had a picture of him when he was young had a very thin mustache and he reminded me of Clark Gable , very handsome. I remember his kisses they were sloppy wet. Anyway ask me for a kiss in Polish. He was a bit of a peculiar man he never liked a lot of noise , or fussing. When he moved down south he would just show up at my door or my sisters spend the night in leave. Knock on the door and you say who is it "John Jones." He served in the second world war. His wife called me and told me he had past. He died from the same thing as his mother did a cerebral hemorrhage.
