  • Introduction

My beloved grandma, Da, loved the beach, the sun, old movies, opera, Julie Andrews movies from the 1960's, cooking, & eating good Eastern European food. She loved John Denver, Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, & above all, MY classical piano playing (She & her sister, Nana (Clara Hirsch), bought me my piano @ age 6; I played concert piano for 7 years, which my Da (Henriette), loved.) I still have that Wurlitzer piano in my possession. I could always turn to my Da when i was unhappy as a child, or for anything when I needed love & advise. She gave of herself & I'm in much gratitude for her love, along with Nana's love. I wouldn't have made it thru that part of my life without Da & Nana. There IS a God, because he gave me Da (Hungarian & Romanian for "grandma"). Thank you, my sweet Da! I'll love you forever! Luchica (Lucy)

My Grandma "Da" was a blessing to me when I was a little girl. She & her sister, my Great Aunt, Clara Hirsch (Nana), took me to all the musicals/movies, also spent hors knitting & reading while I was having so much fun riding the ponies for hours @ Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. They never complained about all my time on the ponies while they patiently waited.
Da took me to swimming lessons @ 8 years old; She took me to Hawaii for 10 days for my 16th birthday. She spoiled me with gifts & my 1st Mary Poppins doll & all accessories, amongst anything & everything I ever wanted.
Da protected me from much of the negative environment I was exposed to. I loved going to Santa Monica Beach, eating cheese sandwiches on rye bread, & playing in the sand & ocean.
I loved my Da & I gave back to her by way of feeding her & changing her diapers while she was slowly passing. I really miss my Da & I hope she is watching over me. My Da was a "God send!" I forgive all the negative & all I see & remember is the positive things Da did for me. She & Nana were the two who cared to give me their love, time, & attention. God Bless my Da!! Lucy Crasnick-Ehasz (granddaughter)
