She had siblings Harriet Elizabeth Matthews, Alice Ellen Matthews, William Benjamin Matthews, Frederick Thomas Matthews, Adeline Esther Frances Matthews, Beatrice May (Matthews) Adams, Grace Mabel (Matthews) Nelson, Elsie Letitia Matthews, Ralph John Matthews, and Herbert Alfred Matthews. Hazel Matthews married William Alexander Collins in 1925, and died at age 81 years old on December 25, 1975 at West St, in Preston.
