Born April 10, 1901, in Jenner Township, Somerset County. Preceded in death by husband, Harvey S., died April 28, 1954; son, Roy; grandson, James R. Thomas. Survived by these children: Clara, widow of Lucius Wable, Washington, D.C.; Mary Ellen, widow of Irvin F. Ohler, Hollsopple RD 2; Lenora Lang, Baltimore; Ernest "Bud," married to former Katie Kabina, Boswell RD 1; Leonard, married to former Nancy Meyers, Hollsopple RD 2; Alma, wife of Theodore E. Taylor, Boswell; Shirley, wife of William R. Thomas, Boswell RD 1; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Member of Jenner Township Baptist Church. Also member of auxiliary to Boswell Post 461 American Legion. Friends received from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Arthur L. Mentzer. Interment, Jenner Township Baptist Cemetery.

Hattie Ogline was born to David & Catherine (KISER) OGLINE but was fostered out at the age of less than 1 year old to Jeremiah and Minerva BERKEY family in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and took on the BERKEY Family name. Hattie's mother, Catherine (Kiser)-Ogline died from child birth complications after her 1901 birth, Placed in foster care, she was fortunate to have been adopted and raised by Jeremiah & Minerva Berkey, faithful and loving, caring people as their own daughter as a blessing from god.
