The reason you have no information about Harriet is because her surname was spelt differently on her birth certificate, as was her father’s. Her correct surname is Sargent, not Sergeant. Harriet’s father was Richard Strong Sargent. He was born in Dublin and died in Narracoorte South Australia, on the 9th of February, 1919. In Brief: According to newspaper accounts, Richard Strong Sargent was born in Dublin, Ireland on 29th May, 1839 and died on 9th February, 1919, three and a half months before his 80th birthday. They had two sons, Richard Strong (1863-1926), and William Francis (1871 – 1873) who died at the age of two years and seven months on March 16th, 1873, in the same month as his mother Catherine, who died at the age of 34 of dysentery on the 29th March, 1873. She is buried in Penola Cemetery, S.A. Their daughter Harriette, who, at the time of her father’s death, and according to newspaper notices, lived in Sydney (There are no other details of her known yet). Richard’s second marriage was on 28th September, 1875, when he married Theresa Craythorne (4.8.1861 - 2.9.1947) and they eventually settled in Narracoorte, S.A. They had eight more children.
