Grace Ringin Kenney 1884 - 1976

Grace (Ringin) Kenney of Cambrian Hill, Golden Plains Shire County, VIC Australia was born in 1884 in Drouin, Baw Baw Shire County to David Ringin and Elizabeth Smyth Ringin. She had siblings Mary Ann (Ringin) Mcdonald, Elizabeth Robinson Elspeth Ringin, Marguerite Ringin, David Ringin Jr., Andrew Ringin, and James William Ringin. She married Robert Kenney in 1907, and had children Robert Norman Kenney, Grace Eliza Kenney, Jack William Kenney, Mona Violet Kenney, and Mona Violet Kenney. Grace Kenney died at age 92 years old in 1976 in Cambrian Hill, Golden Plains Shire County.

In 1884, in the year that Grace Ringin Kenney was born, on August 5th, the cornerstone for the base of the Statue of Liberty - a gift from the people of France - was laid. 120,000 people - most donations were $1 - donated to the completion of the base.
