2 Memories, Stories & Photos about Gordon

My name is Michael Hacking, and the last words my Mother, Dorothy said to me (in 2007) were 'Darling, don't ever forget your Daddy'. She was 92 when she died, born in 1917. My Dad Never told me about himself, so there is is not much I remember.

He came out of his shell once in a while. He tried to speak to his father who lived in Ramsgate (Dad & Lill), but my Father was not to blame. His dad rejected him. I may never know why.

But Dorothy Gordon Hacking wrote our Family History as far back as she could remember being told - beginning about 1860. Her Sister Eileen Wood typed some of it before she was killed by a car (about 1996/7).

My Sister, Rosemary Brown, Addiscombe Road Margate, Kent, England has the transcript.

I have kept a journal of my life, and the grand-daughter she never got to meet, because my Mother's Gordon Hacking name and My Mother's maiden name of PICKETT, were so important to her.

I plan to bring her work up to date. Add to it, scan in early photos, written info not available before, etc., so my Japanese Daughter can get access in the future to her roots. If she wants.

My Japanese wife wants to divorce, with many excuses and pretences (July 10th 2010 to date, 2013). I discovered a few weeks ago that under the law of this country my wife could remove HACKING from our daughter's name without my consent, and in my absence legally in Japan do this.

My mother would would turn in in her grave if I didn't resist.

What's in a name?

More than I ever Imagined.

(Especially since I discovered why Japan is one of 180 countries to not sign The Hague Convention on Abduction, even though Japan has been fighting to get abducted children back from Korea for 30 years).

What's in a name?

A lot more than I ever thought.
It's how my daughter can find me.

I don't know if I can register her birth in England, but I've blocked my wife's legal ability in her home country to divorce without my knowledge and legally remove HACKING from Sara's name & Gordon Hacking's descent forever. which I can not allow.

I'm getting sick with it, and my daughter and my wife couldn't care less. Sara's loving, caring mother is doing a good job of Daddy denigration.

Every day now I feel like giving in. But Sara is my driving force. She's my reason for being me, Gordon & Dorothy HACKING's only son & heir.

I would love to hear from a long lost uncle or old family friend who could fill in some details.

Michael Charles Hacking.
Osaka, Japan.
Down on job luck.
And forced to quit his family.
