She had siblings Ruby Ethel Groves, Leslie Keith Bailey Groves, Allan Roy Groves, Norman Reginald George Groves, Robert Bruce Groves, and Annie Leah Groves. Gladys Groves married David Stanley Rainey in 1941, and died at age 92 years old in June 2008 in Melbourne.
