Gilinda Grander wed to Roger Phillippe
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church was the setting last Saturday, Feb. 6, for the marriage of Gilinda Dawn Granger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert L. Granger of Williamsburg, and Roger Gene Phillippe, son of Mr. H. James Phillippe of Wolfforth, Texas, and Mrs. James Sulwold of St. Joseph, Mo. The Rev. John R. King officiated at a double ring ceremony. A program of wedding music was provided by Thomas Marshall, organist. Mrs. James Root served as mistress of ceremonies.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an original princess styled gown of sheer organza over luminescent suraline, featuring a Queen Anne neckline and flowing sleeves banded with English lace. The gown's skirt and extended chapel train were edged with matching lace. Her walking. length veil of illusion was bordered with Chantilly lace.

She wore diamond earrings, a gift of the groom, and following family tradition, a set of beaded bracelets, first worn by her great-great-grandmother at her wedding in 1816. The bride's bouquet was an old fashioned nosegay of silk roses with rainbow velvet ribbons in the colors of her attendants' gowns. Miss Elishia Luce of Williamsburg served as maid of honor. She wore a gown of light blue accented with darker blue velvet.

The bridesmaids were Miss Gray Ann Granger, sister of the bride, Miss Martina Denby of Newport News and Miss Pamela Sanderson of Richmond. They wore gowns of blue, lavender and pink lace, respectively with darker velvet trim, and carried nosegays of mixed silk flowers with rainbow velvet streamers.

Eric Rosenfield of Newport News served as best man. The ushers were Gregory Granger, brother of the bride, Graham Zimmerman, Edwin Ragsdale and Daniel Richards, all of Williamsburg.

A reception followed at the home of the bride.
