  • Introduction

    Gilbert L Crabtree was married to Rita Crabtree in 1945 and later divorced in 1964. He had two children, Mary and Bobby Crabtree. My Dad was a quite and kind man. The loved his family with all his heart. He made sure that my brother and I had our homework done. I didn't understand his wanting us to do our best in school until I had my own children. He could take a simple meal and turn it into a gourmet meal. He served his hometown by being involved in the Chamber of Commerce. Getting the rodeo grounds cleaned up and cooking for the Cache Western Days. He was a charter member of the booster club. His Family settled in Cache in 1907. He was the son of Hiram(Bud) and Nora Crabtree. Along with his brothers J M and Marvin they kept their mother very busy. Dad had four grandkids,three grandsons and one granddaughter. He treated them equally. Sadly he got to see the two older grandson and granddaughter graduate from high school,but was in spirit when the last two grandsons graduated. He loved to fish And now somewhere above he sits on a creek bank with fishing pole in hand and smiling at us and saying will done my family.

    Born May 9 1916 in Faxon,Oklahoma to Hiram and Nora Crabtree. He is left to cherish his memory to children. Mary Crabtree-Dixon and Gilbert Lee Crabtree Jr.(Bobby). Four grandchildren,Melissa and Terry Dixon,Ronnie and Bobby Crabtree. Brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Nell Crabtree.Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Nora,two brothers J M and Marvin. One sister-in-law Bea Crabtree.
