Forest Ogle 1899 - 1977

Forest Ogle of Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee was born on June 6, 1899. He married Vera Ogle, and they had children Jeanie Ogle Dill, Linda Ogle Lifsey, and Elizabeth Ogle Dill. He was the parent of Jeanie Ogle Dill. Forest Ogle died at age 77 years old in February 1977, and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.

In 1901, at the age of just 2 years old, Forest was alive when shortly after beginning his second term, President McKinley was assassinated by the self proclaimed anarchist Leon Czolgosz. The last President to have served in the Civil War - he began as a private and ended the war as a brevet major - McKinley was a Republican. First elected in 1896, he was re-elected in 1900. Six months after the swearing in, McKinley was shot - and died of the gangrene that set in as a result.
