Eva Newman of Fscray Australia was born in 1909 to Eva Knowles Ducrow and James Ducrow. She had siblings Eveline Jane Ducrow, Christina Ducrow, Nellie Ducrow, James Ducrow, William Thomas Ducrow, Eva Ducrow, Elsie May Ducrow, William Thomas Ducrow, and Nellie Flight. Eva Newman died at age 30 years old in 1939 in Fscray.

In 1909, in the year that Eva Newman was born, the U.S. penny was changed to the Abraham Lincoln design. The Lincoln penny was so popular that it soon had to be rationed and it sold on the secondary market for a quarter. Abraham Lincoln was the first historical figure to be on a U.S. coin - which was released to commemorate his 100th birthday. This penny was also the first U.S. cent to include the words "In God We Trust.".

In 1912, at the age of just 3 years old, Eva was alive when the Girl Scouts of the USA was started by Juliette Gordon Low with the help of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts in Great Britain. She said after a meeting with Baden-Powell, "I've got something for the girls of Savannah, and all of America, and all the world, and we're going to start it tonight!" And she did.
