    Esther Bodis 1925-2006 Mrs. Esther P. Bodis, 81, of 520 Esther St., Michigan City, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 6 p.m. at her home. She was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Michigan City, to Adam and Stella (Szczepanek) Jankowski. Mrs. Bodis was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church and a former member of the Vivians. On Sept. 5, 1949, in Michigan City, she married LeRoy “Lee” Bodis, who died March 9, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Kay Zdyb; two sisters, Irene Cizewski and Genevieve Hertzberg; and four brothers, Walter, Edward and John Cizewski and Eugene Jankowski. Surviving are one daughter, Lori Bailey of Michigan City; two grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Zdyb; one sister, Lillian “Lee” Napierala of Michigan City; and one brother, Joseph Cizewski of Michigan City. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, with Rev. Terrence Chase officiating. Friends may call at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, today from 5 to 8 p.m., with a wake service at 6:30 p.m.; and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Open Door Health Center, 301 W. Homer St., Michigan City, IN 46360; Michiana Humane Society, PO Box 8651, Michigan City, IN 46360; or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
