Daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth LOWE Groseclose; wife of: Kennerly Dobyns, b Montgomery, VA; son of Dangerfield Dobyns; marriage: 24 Mar 1854, Johnson Co.,IN;
Children: John Jacob, b @1857 Story Co.; md (1st, unk.) @ 1888 and father of 4; md (2nd) Mary J. Dobbs, age 50, 23 Dec 1904, Leigh, Choctaw Nation, Indian Terr, OK;
1900 Census:Leavenworth Penitentiary inmate. 1920 Census: Boone Twp, Coal Co., OK with wife Mary.

Elizabeth C.; b Oct 1859, Story Co.; md a Mr Barnett; and is listed in 1900 census as Bettie Barnett, sister of Thomas Dobbyns, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.

Ella M., b 5 Mar 1862, Story Co, d 4 Dec 1885, Whitehead, Garvin Co., Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (OK). (May have md a Mr. Warren)

Thomas Jefferson Dobyns, b 27 Mar 1864; md Elizabeth Wharton.

Martha Elmira "Mattie" Dobyns, b 23 Oct 1866; young widow of (1st)Mr. G.S. Reed; md.(2nd) John Marion Jaye

After Esther's death Kennerly md Mary Eliza Kelso, Cherokee lady and family housekeeper. They moved to TX around 1876, and died of yellow fever, on the same day, in 1888, Grayson Co., TX, apparently after being exposed to yellow fever while waiting to cross the flooded Red River with a herd of horses and cattle being transferred from the Chickasaw Nation to Texas.

Children of the second marriage:Oscar Dobyns;Charles Kinley Dobyns;Infant son, d 20 Feb 1875, bd Center Grove Cemetery, Cambridge, Story Co IA. (gravestone photo available);Joseph Marion Dobyns;David Fletcher Dobyns;Viola Gertrude Dobyns' and
infant child, b abt 1887, d 1888, of yellow fever.

The orphaned children, except for Oscar, left Grayson Co. to work on the Holmes Willis cattle ranch, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. Son, Charles, worked on the this and other ranches for several years to support younger siblings.
Date & Place: at Center Grove Cemetery in Cambridge, Iowa USA
