Ernest George Wallace of Shepparton, Greater Shepparton City County, VIC Australia was born in 1882 in Benalla, Benalla Rural City County to Thomas Wallace and Celia Hannah (Osborn) Wallace. He had siblings Samuel Thomas Wallace, John Charles Wallace, Albert James Wallace, and Susan Jane Green. Ernest Wallace married Sarah Jane Ford in 1905, and died at age 87 years old in March 1970 in Shepparton, Greater Shepparton City County.

In 1882, in the year that Ernest George Wallace was born, on January 5th, writer and lawyer Charles J. Guiteau was found guilty of the assassination of President Garfield. Guiteau was "offended" because his job applications had been rejected by Garfield's government. He was sentenced to death -although his lawyer plead insanity - and hanged five months later, on June 30th.
