Emma Deppler (Deppeler) Matthews of Inodewarre Australia was born on August 26, 1890 in Meredith, VIC to Bertha Schefferle Deppeler and Andrew Deppeler. She had siblings Bertha Deppeler, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Deppeler, Godfrey Deppeler, William Deppeler, Reynold Deppeler, Andrew Deppeler, Jacob Deppeler, and Frederick Deppeler. She married Archie Rupert William Matthews in 1912, and had children Amy Evelyn Matthews, Dorothy Matthews, Bertha Sophia Matthews, and Archie Rupert Matthews. Emma Matthews died at age 79 years old on August 22, 1970 in Colac, Colac Otway Shire County.
