Emily Ivy Claydon ( Searle 1889 - 1966

Ivy (Searle) Claydon was born in 1889 to Emily Ruth Searle ( Grant and Henry Edward Searle, and had siblings Gilbert "Bert" Edward Searle, Olive Bertha Secretan ( Searle, Arthur Henry Searle, and Annie Winifred Searle. She married John Henry Claydon, and died at age 76 years old in August 1966. Ivy Claydon was buried on August 5, 1966 at Cheltenham Cemetery in Cheltenham, Bayside City County, VIC Australia.

The Coca-Cola drink was originally created by John Stith Pemberton, first as a patent medicine and then as a soda fountain drink. Pemberton had sold the company in 1888, shortly before he died.

In 1908, Ivy was 19 years old when a 7.1 earthquake and the resulting tsunami killed 70,000 to 100,000 people in southern Italy and Sicily. The earthquake, lasting 30 to 40 seconds, occurred in the Strait of Messina which was between the region of Calabria (at the "toe" of Italy) and the island of Sicily and destruction from it occurred in a 186 mile radius. It was the most destructive earthquake ever to hit Europe.
