She had siblings Isabella Sarah Heywood, Alice May Heywood, Mary Bell Stuart Heywood, James Alexander McMurdo Heywood, Arthur Edward Heywood, Amy Ellen (Heywood) Holmes, Charles Spearman Heywood, Margaret Elizabe Holmes, and Henry George Heywood. Ellen Matson died at age 75 years old in 1962 in Heidelberg.
