Ella Linwood (Cranston) Cranston Eddy was born on September 5, 1863 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts United States to Orville Walter Cranston and Abigail Girard (Stowell) Cranston. She married Herbert Allen Eddy, and had children Bertha Linwood (Eddy) Clark and Doris Cranston (Eddy) Parker. Ella Cranston Eddy died at age 67 years old on February 8, 1931 at Martha's Vineyard Oak Bluffs, in Dukes County.

Introduction

Ella was my great great grandmother, and while our lives did not coincide, I did know her youngest daughter quite well. Ella had two Children, both daughters. Her eldest daughter, Bertha Linwood Eddy Clark passed away 3 years before I was born. Her youngest daughter however was my Great Grandmother, Doris Cranston Eddy Parker who lived and was very mentally sharp until I was 17 years old. My Great Grandmother Doris shared many memories of her mother and her life growing up on Martha's Vineyard, with her father Herbert Allen Eddy and her elder sister Bertha Linwood Eddy Clark. My Great Grandmother also bequeathed a good number of photos and documents to me in her will. Unfortunately they are not well documented and I am working to try to find out of who and where many of these photographs were taken.
