Elias Rosales Gonzales Jr was born on March 15, 1937 to Elias Esquivel Gonzales and Adela (Rosales ) Gonzales, and had siblings Pablo Rosales Gonzales and Alberto Rosales Gonzales. He married Delia Garibia (Morado ) Gonzales on February 25, 1959 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas United States and they later separated. Elias Gonzales died at age 53 years old on September 21, 1990 in San Antonio.

In 1937, in the year that Elias Rosales Gonzales was born, on May 28th, the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge opened to cars. Taking 5 years to build, the 4,200-foot-long suspension bridge was an engineering marvel of its time - 11 men died during construction. The "international orange" color was chosen because it resisted rust and fading. To the present, it is the symbol of the City that is known throughout the world.
