He was the parent of James Gordon Poe, Virginia Sally Poe, Glenna Celia (Poe) Layman, Chester Harvey Poe, and Elna (Poe) Gaddy. Elbert Poe died at age 90 years old in 1963 at Montrose, Colorado.
