Edna (Hillis) Clevenger was born on July 11, 1923 in Warren County, TD United States to Evelyn Irene (Watson) Hillis and Samuel Houston "Sam" Hillis, and had siblings Charles Hillis, Sammie Hillis, Myrtle Hillis, Lucille Hillis, Bobbie Hillis, Shirley (Hillis) Harris, Judy (Hillis) Shores, Brenda (Hillis) Little, Wanda (Hillis) Martin, Gary Hillis, and Kay (Hillis) Smith. She married Ernest Clyde Clevenger, and had children Rex Wade Clevenger, Stephen "Steve" Clevenger, I, and Linda S. (Clevenger) Williams. Edna Clevenger died at age 90 years old on April 18, 2014 in Columbus, Franklin County, OH.

    Edna was preceded in death by husband, Ernest; son, Rex; parents, Sam and Evelyn Hillis; sisters, Myrtle, Lucille, Sammie, and Bobbie; brother, Charles. At the time of her passing, she was survived by a son, Steve Clevenger and wife Elaine of Heiskell, TN; daughter, Linda S. Williams and husband Eddie of Columbus, OH; sisters, Judy Shores of Clinton, Shirley Harris and Harold Gore of Oak Ridge, Brenda Little of Clinton, Kay Smith and husband Doyle of Waycross, GA, and Wanda Martin and husband Robert of Oak Ridge; brother, Gary Hillis; grandchildren, Stephani Murphy and husband Mark of Canal Winchester, OH, Angela Clevenger of Knoxville, Susie Stamey and husband Scott of Knoxville, Ernie Clevenger, II of Knoxville, Bradley Clevenger and wife Ginger of Knoxville, Stephen Clevenger, II, John D. Overton and Sam Overton all of Heiskell; four great grandchildren, Sydney and Scottie Stamey, Kylie Overton and Macie Overton. Edna was a homemaker and totally devoted to her family. After losing her husband and a seven year old son she dedicated her life to the care of various members of her family and enjoyed her life as a grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ beginning at a very young age and was totally dedicated to living an exemplary life in the teachings that she offered her family and even though her faith was tested on a number of occasions she never wavered in her belief that our salvation was in the Lord.
