He went on to be a well known American Gladiator in 1989 and was on the show from 1989 - 1992, using the name "Malibu". After sustaining severe injuries, he moved on to acting, appearing in "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation", "Roswell" and "Batman Forever." He also played Motaro in the second "Mortal Kombat" film. After his wife died, Deron became a devout Christian and is raising his daughters on his own.
