My Grandparents.
Doris (Dodie) Early-Georgalas was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, outside of Boston. She had one sister, Florence (Flodie) Early-McFall. They were raised by their mother and grandmother. At some point they moved to Warren, Ohio for work and Doris attended St. Mary's school.
She eventually married Stephen Georgalas who was born in Greece on the island of Chios. His family came to Warren, Ohio to live with friends and relatives in the thriving Greek community there. His family had a small grocery store. He attended school until junior high age and then worked at the store. He later worked at a local steel mill. Together Doris and Steve raised six children: Robert, Tom, Eugenia, Alexander, Ellen and Stephen. They had 15 grandchildren. The family was tightly knit and spent wonderful times together celebrating holidays and birthdays. Doris was an adoring grandmother and avid bingo player. Steve loved to fish throughout the year and passed that on to his sons and grandsons.
