    In 1850, Dorcas Bolls was home with her first husband and three children in Riley Township, Putnam County, OH. Her parents and two younger siblings were neighbors. Her father was a shoemaker. Dorcas (Rice) had m1: Irvin J Bolls (also spelled Bowles and Bolles) who was born in Virginia about 1820. Their Bolles children were Emanuel, Robert R, and Melinda Ann, all three born in Ohio. Melinda Ann went by the Thayer surname and m: O B Shoemaker of Greene County, AR.
