    my name is william johnson, son of william delbert and charlsie ellabe johnson. docia allison was my grandmother. i have great memories of her. she was very religious and a hard worker. i remember i went to live with her when i was 13 years old to help her take care of her bed ridden son, lancie, who had bad health all his life. grandma said he was born with " a leaking spine". he could not walk, had very bad eyes, and could form speech. his mind though was sharp. i asked her about the family back then but i don't remember a lot of what she told me, so i can't be sure of any of it. she always wore modest, "old timey" clothing she made bonnets and wore the everywhere. she read her bible daily, and if you lived under her roof , you did to. my parents bought her farm around 1975 and she bought a trailer and lived beside our house until she passed away from a stroke. i hope to hear from other family members and learn more about them. her children were lancie, zella, estel, herbert, charlsie, and johnathan benjiman (aka j.b.). we lived in bybee, tn. if anyone has more information, please feel free to contact me.

In 1913, by the time she was 18 years old, ratified in February the 16th Amendment, establishing a Federal income tax, became law. Previously, customs duties (tariffs) and excise taxes were the primary sources of federal revenue.
