Delbert R Towse had siblings Donald Towse, Daniel Delhi Towse, Raymond Arnold Towse, Helen McKee, and Edith Packard. He married Dorothy J Towse on December 24, 1936 in Hooksett, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. They had children Robert John Towse, Mary Louise Towse, and Christopher Alan Towse. He would also marry Dorothy Jane Towse on December 24, 1936 in Hooksett, Merrimack County, NH. They had children Robert John Towse, Mary Louise Towse, and Christopher Alan Towse. Died at age 83 years old on June 4, 1998 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital 21298 Olean Blvd, in Port Charlotte, Charlotte County, FL, and was buried on June 9, 1998 at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham, Middlesex County, MA.

In 1914, in the year that Delbert R Towse was born, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers. Anna Jarvis had championed a Mother's Day for years but Congress had joked a few years earlier that then they would have to proclaim a "Mother-in-law's Day" as well. The President who championed a woman's right to vote also created a day in their honor.
