Daisy Marion (Start) Griffin of Dubbo, Dubbo Regional Council County, NSW Australia was born in 1894 in Stawell, Northern Grampians Shire County, VIC to Frank Start and Elizabeth Hillary Start. She had siblings Rheita Clarice (Start) Ord, Bessie Ada Start, Ina Louisa Start, Stella Alexandra Start, Thelma Lucy Start, Isabel Mavis Myre Start Hopper, Frank Hillary Start, and Charles Eric Norman Stanley Start. Daisy Griffin married Guy Francis Cameron Griffin in 1919, and died at age 78 years old in 1973 in Dubbo, Dubbo Regional Council County, NSW.

The Panic of 1893, and the resulting depression, hit coal miners hard and the miners only struck for 8 weeks - they couldn't afford to live without their wages any longer.

In 1939, at the age of 45 years old, Daisy was alive when in May, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated film, reached a total international gross of $6.5 million which made it (to then) the most successful sound film of all time. First released in December 1937, it was originally dubbed "Disney's Folly" but the premiere received a standing ovation from the audience. At the 11th Academy Awards in February 1939, Walt Disney won an Academy Honorary Award - a full-size Oscar statuette and seven miniature ones - for Snow White.
