I don't have any memories of him, but he is my 2nd cousin 3 times removed. He died before he was married or had children, before he had a chance to have a life that involved a family and growing old. I have been to visit his grave in Warlencourt and also his cousin Philip Charles Stepto who is buried in Dive Copse. I just don't want their memory to ever be forgotten as they don't have descendants to go and visit them. Their line was ended before they were 20 years old. My partner said that we are quite possibly the first family to go and visit them. Cyril went to the Emanuel School in Battersea and is remembered on the WW1 Roll of Honour. I am hoping to visit the school to see the memorial and hopefully there may be some old photos of the boys.
