    Curtis Delmer King was born November 20th, 1918 in Miami, Oklahoma to Walter Gokey King (1881 - 1964) and Louise Belle H. Holmes (1888 - 1966) and he had siblings Walter, Clarence, Myrtle, Ada, Kenneth, Lorene, Mary Ann, and Don. On his World War II draft card, Curtis described himself as being five feet and eleven inches tall and as weighing 135 pounds. He had hazel eyes, black hair, and a "light brown" complexion. Curtis D. King married Mary Aurelia Kirkaldie (1918 - 2011) on October 10th, 1939 in Chinook, Montana and they had two sons, including James Carlton (1942 - 1984). Curtis also married Ellen Viola Sumpter Colley on December 23rd, 1983 in Columbia, Missouri. He was a life member of the American Legion. See Curtis King: Obituary.

    MIAMI, Okla. - Curtis D. King, 65, Moberly, Mo., formerly of Miami, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home after an illness. Mr. King was born Nov. 20, 1918 in Ottawa County, near Miami. He was an Ottawa Indian, and interior decorator, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Baptist Church and a life member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elder King; two sons, James King, St. Louis, and Curtis King, the state of Alaska; one brother, Don King, Tulsa; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Weston and Mrs. Lorene Montgomery, both of Midwest City, and Mrs. Mary Ann Angelo and Ada Savoie, both of Miami, and three grandchildren. - Joplin Globe (Joplin, Missouri) February 2, 1984 on page 20.
