    Clifford Paul Geiwitz was born to parents Roy William Geiwitz (1893-1976) and Ella Meta Lemke (1894-1981) on April 23, 1917. He had siblings Glen John (1918-1918), Bernice A (1919-2005), Gene Roy (1920-1991), and George Kenneth Geiwitz (1936-1994). Clifford enlisted into the United States Air Corps on June 4, 1941 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and was a private and served in both World War II and Korea. He married Marion R Gates (1920-1975) on June 2, 1946 in Joplin, Jasper, MO. They had a daughter together, Marianne.
