    Chin Foo "George" Dong was born to Wing Ark Dong (1984-1948) and Kow Fun Hum (1904-1942), and had siblings Jin Hing, Jing Wing Dong, and a half sibling "Butchie" Dong. Both Chin's father Wing, and his mother Kow, were born in China. Chin was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Helen Wong (1926-2011), and they had a daughter Carol Jean Dong, and a son Jin W. Dong. Later on he re-married and had two daughters.
