Charlotte Charlotte (Flavelle) Wilson of Collingwood Australia was born in 1835 at Portadown Armagh, Ireland, and was buried circa September 25, 1887 at Melbourne General Cemetery College Cres, in Parkville, Melbourne City County, VIC. She married William Drinkwater Painter on February 4, 1859, and they were married until William's death in 1865. They had a child Emma Jane Painter. She also married Samuel Wilson, and they had a child William Wilson.

In 1835, in the year that Charlotte Flavelle Wilson was born, on June 2nd, P. T. Barnum and his "circus" began their first tour of the U.S. He had paid $1,000 for an elderly slave named Joice Heth, who he claimed was 161 years old and a former nurse for George Washington. Touring the northeast of the U.S., he made more than $1,000 per week. Joice died the next year - at about 80 years old.
