Charles S Kirkum's History: 1925 - 1999

Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

Stan was a very hard worker , had physical scars from WWII & Korean War. He adopted myself and my brother in 1964. Was a disciplinary man but what I remember best is his humor! Being English, his humor could seem dry at times but he used humor a lot. When I’d have a sore and cry - he’d reply “I didn’t feel a thing”. I’d quickly forget the pain & just 😆 I feel respect for very few people in my life but Stan was the first of those few.

Did everything together outside of Stan’s work. Drinking buddies , harsh sense of humor in treatment of one another but when Fran died it killed the best part of Stan. He lived 15 yrs without her physically yet was with her in his heart & soul every single day.
