Grandfather
This was my grandfather. I didn't get to visit him a lot, but I loved him dearly. He was a very quiet man. He played the fiddle really, really well. He was married to Ruth Hurst Trigg and they had four children - John Lonus (my father), Billy Birl, Ruth Ellen and Ronald Kenneth. They had a farm outside of Hector. He grew peanuts among other things and had cattle. I got to visit the farm as a child. I remember him out chopping wood for their wood burning stove. It was always so cold (we usually visited around Christmas) we would jump out of bed and run to the living room and get dressed by the wood burning stove.
