Charles Edward Moon of Casterton Australia was born in 1892 in Barramunga, Colac Otway Shire County, VIC to Charles Moon and Mary Jane (Jenkins) Moon. He had siblings Mabel Catherine Moon, Irwin Roy Moon, Richard Netherton Moon, Herbert Stanley Moon, and Arthur Leslie Moon. He married Margaret Gillespie Moon in 1913, and had children Howard Corbett Moon, Francis Sloane Moon, Leah Rose Moon, and Gwenyth Jean Moon. Charles Moon died at age 30 years old in 1922 in Casterton, Glenelg Shire County.

In 1892, in the year that Charles Edward Moon was born, on August 4th, the father and stepmother of Lizzie Borden were found murdered. Lizzie was accused of the crime and on June 20th of the next year, she was acquitted of murder by a jury. But she was never acquitted in the public mind.

In 1906, by the time he was just 14 years old, abolitionist and suffragette leader Susan B. Anthony died, before women's right to vote nationally was realized (in 1920). She, along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, founded the National American Woman Suffrage Association which later became the League of Women Voters. She died at the age of 86 of heart failure and pneumonia in her home in New York.
